The Primary Prevention program works to eliminate sexual and other forms of violence by changing the social conditions and beliefs that perpetuate the occurrence of these crimes. Through working with residents of all ages, the program hopes to eliminate sexual violence for future generations. We accomplish this through:
Speaking with parents, students and professionals about communication, respect, self-esteem, boundaries and healthy relationships
Addressing cultural factors such as gender roles and images in the media that contribute to a society that tolerates sexual violence
Arming our audiences with the words and confidence to speak up and act assertively when their boundaries are crossed and when they see people in unsafe situations
Encouraging active bystanders throughout every aspect of society
Helping people feel comfortable talking about sexual violence so they can share what they have learned with others
Working to build the capacity of communities to change social norms and promote change
We offer a variety of programs presented to children and youth, adults and professionals, law enforcement and other adults.
Make your pledge to end sexual violence today!
