- You have 20 seconds for someone to see your resume and form an opinion, so arrange your information strategically.
- It can be a good idea to get your foot in the door by taking a position that is not ideal.
- People prefer to hire someone who's been recommended by someone they trust.
- See every opportunity as a networking opportunity. You never know who might be able to help you get connected.
- Use the internet to find information.
- Apply in person!
- Don't give up! Weekly follow-up is not annoying or desperate.
- When contacting an employer, always get the name of the person you spoke with.
- Get your job history resume, cover letter and references in order.
- Bring the right tools to your interview! ( resume, references, 2 pens, notebook with questions)
