Casimir Pulaski

Students who attend the Casimir Pulaski Before and After School Program will participate in lots of exciting activities! Two staff members are available to assist students with homework and reading. Daily snack is provided by the cafeteria and usually consists of fresh fruit, cereal or crackers. Our location in the gym allows us to play lots of teambuilding games such as "Steal the Bacon" and Volleyball. For those students who do not wish to participate in recreational activities, we provide time for dramatic play and arts and crafts. "Free painting" is a favorite activity along with a variety of card games and building manipulatives. Students will also participate in enriching science projects throughout the school year based on monthly themes.Check out the S.T.A.R. News from Pulaski!

Students learned how to make a healthy after school snack by making strawberry banana smoothies!

For the start of school this year, students got to know each other by making "Silhouette Collages." The outline of their heads were first projected on a wall using a flashlight. Then the outline was carefully traced on to black paper. Students then cut out pictures from magazines of some of their favorite things and glued them on to their heads. Can you tell who's who?

Students created a series of self portraits in the style of Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol. Several were entered in the CT After School Network art contest " Faces of After School." The selected finalists Jordyn and Zoe were able to see their original artwork on display at the New Britain Museum of American Art!
